This, the July (2011) prompt from reverb10.com I started thinking about, when it landed in my inbox 11 days ago. “What new thing will you try this month?” Truth be told, I don’t want to create a whole new thing, a new project or gargantuan goal at this time. It feels like I have enough to be getting on with (and happily and comfortably so) like I say, at this time…
But, I do want to IMPROVE MY TIME MANAGEMENT, work more efficiently, bring productivity and POWER to my week! Improve the structure I have created for my work and life and finish the week (fridays) on a high, rather than the feeling of dread and vague disappointment I’ve become accustomed to. That, not having finished what I started feeling, that nagging wondering if I have achieved all I could this week (boring!) narrative. Negative thoughts that breed bad feelings, that most likely hamper my progress (towards what else is possible) and do not justify the achievements I have undoubtedly… achieved.
So! My one new thing this month headline is LIVING A LIFE THAT WORKS, with one further aim (by way of measuring how my life is working) is the added incentive to attain AN EXTRA HOUR IN MY DAY. I’ll use this precious time for reading.
I have started. As well as tasks to undertake, I am allowing my awareness to wander into what tweaks and adjustments I can make in my work routine. I am focussing on the detail in my days and trying to think creatively about simple and effective actions that make a massive difference.
Check back, see how I’m doing. Better still, take up the challenge yourself and I’ll follow your progress back.
Thanks for taking a minute to read my response to #reverb11 July prompt:
